why was there only one star distroyer in ANH ?? was the Empire small ??

They showed two following Han in the falcon as well.
No, the Empire was normal but it wasn't necessary to show any more, and they had a low budget.

isn't there a part when one is coming toward the falcon from the front and 2 from behind?...or was that a porno i saw?.
there's several references to the size of the imperial fleet when comparing the death star's power to the firepower of the star destroyers

Those weren't star destroyers, they may have had a similar look but I don't remember those sphere shapes coming out of the ground being referred to as 'Star Destroyers'
