Between these two god awful movies,I would say that Batman Returns was the worst of the two.It was even worse than the first with Devito's horrible portrayal of Penguin and the makeup and origin story they gave him,then catwoman coming to life and all of a sudden being a great street fighter because some cats bit on her,it was for sure the worse of the two.The first Batman had more enjoyable moments in it like when Basinger and Keaton were in the batmobile driving to the batcave through the forest and we heard Elfmans theme song.Plus at least Nicholsons Joker was true to his character except for him killing Bruce Waynes parents of course.

I'm having a hard time to choose, both were very good...I think I prefer Batman Returns a little more above Batman. I guess maybe because of Michelle Pfeiffer lol
Batman also had more screentime...you saw him more in action.
film was just Tim Burton's magic!

Batman Returns was a much better movie because it had more villains and I felt that Batman had a better amount of screen time then in Batman 89. And also I felt that Micheal Keaton performance was much deeper then his performance in Batman 89. And also I liked how darker it was compared to the last movie.

I like Batman 89 better cause Joker was portrayed pretty well. Not perfect...but since when is anyone ever? I thought he was funny, and evil. Just like Mr. J should be.
I think Batman Returns was the best of the two... hell, best one yet if ya ask me... I mean we're not gonna get a better Catwoman and the Penguin wasn't half bad either.
