I made the poll multiple choice in case anyone wanted to vote for more than one Joker.
My votes go to Mark Hamil & of course Heath Ledger. They are the two best media incarnations of the Joker thus far, and I really enjoyed seeing them in action. In fact, I wouldn't mind Hamil returning as the Joker in a new series if we get one anytime soon. As for Jack's performance, it was awesome but in a way Jack was being Jack. Kevin's voice of the Joker was cool, and I liked the new take on his Joker, but I absolutely hate everything about Caesar Romero's Joker.

I'd say it's a tossup between the masterpiece performance of Heath Ledger and the personification of comicbook Joker with Mark Hamil. Both of those two were perfect in what they did and I thoroughly enjoy them both. Moviewise I loved Heath Ledger's amazing portrayal and the BTAS interpretation from Mark Hamil is nothing short of steller.
Ledger's performance, thus far, is the closest to Hamil's, and Ledger's is probably going to go down as the best comic movie villain performance of all time. It was that damn good.

Romero's Joker came during a time when people didn't neccasarily buy into the concept of comic books. Let alone a man dressing up in tights. But Romero's Joker was decent for its time.
Mark Hamil has the better Joker voice than Richardson.
Now the good stuff...Jack's Joker was good, but never a true interpretation of the character. Ledger on the other hand turned it up several notches and quite possibly will overcome Darth Vader as the greatest movie screen villain of all time. Ledger delivered a gut wrenching, oscar worthy performance and is simply the best.
I agree but I've never been a big Star Wars fan (still love Darth Vader) and I don't know if the movie Joker will be that great. Comics Joker is THE greatest villain of all time, though.
Jack's Joker was a good incarnation and interpretation, but I felt at times it was Jack being Jack, and not the Joker. His performance was definitely enjoyable, but not too Joker esque. Ledger's Joker was closer to the earlier version of the Joker, who kicked Batman's ass regularly...with no dirty tricks. I love that Ledger's Joker was never afraid to get physical and loved pain...which is another advantage of Ledger's Joker over Jack's. Jack's couldn't even get a simple punch in and was scared to die whereas Ledger's Joker was borderline suicidal...or at least fascinated with the idea of someone worthy like Batman or Dent killing him.

true so you cant count him.I still like Romero the best.Jack was just being Jack and didnt have the right build where Ledger although he had the right build and was great in the role,I will never like his new look they gave the joker. If they had just gotten Ledgers look right like they did with Nicholson,I would say a tie between Romero and ledger but since they messed up on that, still got to go with Romero.
