Where would you rank the The Dark Knight on your list of the best crime drama films. You know films like Godfather 1 and 2, Goodfellas, Scarface, Pulp Fiction, Heat, Casino, American Gangster, etc.
Gender: Male Location: Bringing forth the apocalypse
As a crime drama, it ranks roughly on the same scale as modern, award-winning movies like the Departed. Top 10 material, definitely. Top 5 material? ... maybe. Numero uno? No way in hell.
It's definitely no Godfather (Part I or II) but, to be honest, I enjoyed TDK a lot more than I enjoyed Goodfellas (that's not to say it's a "better film"). I really struggle to compare it to all these crime dramas because the Dark Knight is, remember, about a bloke dressed up as a bat running after an insane murderer dressed as a clown...
I would say, however, it'd be in my top 10. Top 5? I just don't know. I'd probably put it behind Heat and the two Godfathers at least, probably several others too.
It's certainly ahead of American Gangster, though...

Interesting question. In my opinion, I don't think it's in the top 10 as a crime drama. IMO, these are the films that are better than it:
1. The Godfather
2. The Godfather Part 2
3. Goodfellas
4. The Departed
5. Pulp Fiction
6. Dial M for Murder
7. Touch of Evil
8. The Untouchables
9. Dog Day Afternoon
10. City of God
Of course, my opinion could always change, especially after even more viewings.
It has the qaulities like a great cast. One of the best bank heist scenes ever IMO, great villain, and most of all it has something only it can say it has.......Batman vs. The Joker
