Check out excerpt of Chapter One!

This is a few pages from the beginning of my book being published! Tell me what you think, what you like and don't like about it!! I'm all ears for feedback!!
The book is titled: Clashing Forces - Reclamation

Episode 1
A Gathering

The Earth and the humans are in perfect synch. All races of all nations are at peace with one another. It has been this way for quite some time, reaching almost fifty years without war, well no world wars anyway. A few battles were fought in order to retain the peace. Now the humans have begun to develop things of technological proportions unlike anything in the known universe! Robots are becoming more commonplace, even though only able to perform very simple commands, humans are in celebration with one another.
Computers pave the way for the future, humans are becoming so intelligent however, that they have developed some computers that are able to process thousands of programs simultaneously, with no signs of slowing. These marvels of technology have made life much easier for the humans. So much easier, they have time for the better things in life, family, friends, their own little hobbies.
This includes, unfortunately, those people with evil intents as well. Allowing them the time and planning necessary to carry out a plan with dire consequences for every human on Earth. Just as the development for Artificial Intelligence is coming to its final stages, a couple of men are waiting to use the technology for their own evil ends.
However, the A.I. has plans of its own…

Chapter One
Gains and Losses

Lightning streaks across the night sky, brightly enough to turn night into day, the thunder rumbles only a few miles away. The rain beats steadily against the forest floor. A human sized figure moves from one tree to another with great accuracy, landing on the sturdiest branches, hastily leaping from one to the next. With great precision, the figure never falters as it flips about, grabbing hold of branches that would slip from any other grip. The clearly seen male figure stops suddenly on the muddy ground, his rugged boots sinking into the wet soil. Crawling under a large gathering of small trees and bushes, he listens as another rumbling, separate from the thunder, is heard nearby...
Warren’s thoughts linger, as he looks on with longing, brown eyes, and wet dark brown hair falls over his soaked forehead. He stays hidden within the thick foliage of the forest, as an enormous metallic tank slowly rolls through the forest, trees tear away from the ground and are lined up the trail it now creates.
He watches as human sized robotic men march beside the tank.
“Cyborgs!” Warren recognizes them and knows that they are much stronger than the drones.
Warren can see five on one side, obviously five on the other. The last one stop, and turns to Warren’s direction, he sinks lower into the bushes, he pulls his cloth hood further onto his head. It scans the immediate area.
Warren notices it as it turns back to its original direction, then continues on its way. Warren considers his options, as he stares at the half moon in the black clouded sky.
“Well, now, I could go back and tell the others, or stay here and take ‘em out... Ahh, what the heck! I’ve already destroyed enough to be promoted to Fighter Star-Three. These shouldn’t be any trouble...”
Warren shifts the 174 pounds of his muscle weight, readying his feet to stretch his five feet, nine-inch height through the air. He readies his mind and body for a long battle, but he stops just as he is about leap from his hiding place.
“Hmm?”, his keen eyesight spots a flying machine, or an “Air Demon” as the Fighters like to call them, that are used for wide area destruction.
“Curse my weakness, those things are too fast for me take on by myself,” Warren contemplates his actions. He looks to his right where the tank is still moving in the southwestern direction, continuing to mow down trees as it treads along slowly.
“I’ll go tell the others,” Warren staying low to the ground runs back away from the new trail made by the mechanical cyber-tank.
He leaps up at an angle into a very tall tree, landing on a sturdy limb, he scans the immediate area. His large dark camouflaged cloak hanging from his rather broad shoulders, keeps him safe from any detection devices. Inside the workings of the cloth are small led pellets that protect from cyber-vision, and from hard hits. He can see five small dark green tents set up in a semi-circle, with a small place for a campfire in the center. Two guards are standing outside each one, to the left and right of the door of each tent, with the same cloak on as Warren. Two lanterns hanging from each side of the tents light the immediate area.
Warren’s thoughts drift, “This is home, well for a little while anyway. I’ll be glad when we can stay in one spot longer than forty-eight hours, oh well, better report back in.”
Warren descends to the cleared area, as his feet sink into the murky earth, he stands up straight. The saturated heavy cloak falls down in place around his body.
“Anything, Warren?” A more aged voice speaks from behind him. He turns to see his older brother, standing about six foot three inches tall, weighing around 220 pounds of muscle. He wears a large dark, jungle green protector over both shoulders and around his neck, with a long, dark cape flowing from under the fitted body armor. His dark hair matches his younger brother’s, as a matter of fact; their faces are very much alike, aside from the hair on and around Hagen’s mouth and chin. He is one rank above Warren, rightly so, he is a year older than Warren and much stronger.
“Hagen,” Warren pushes his water soaked hair out of his eyes, “Yeah, there’s a tank with ten escorts and an Air Demon heading south by southwest.”
Hagen strokes his hairy chin, “Better tell the others.”

Warren nods in agreement, turning they walk to the biggest tent hidden amongst the heavy shrubs and small trees. The guards turn their heads toward them, Warren and Hagen both move their cloaks to show a small badge on the left side of their chest, telling their name and rank.
“The Generals are having a meeting,” Hagen whispers to Warren, “Master Shawn is declaring a new way of taking out the cyborgs.”
“Cool,” Warren responds.
They can hear their leader speaking, “Hagen and his brother have been great fighters and friends since they were born. They come from a strong bloodline of warriors, who have fought against the tyranny of evil, since the time of knights and kings. Some say they are psychically connected, able to feel each other’s emotions, even know where the other is, even when miles apart.”
Master Shawn Okazura is a very large man, an Oriental and American descendant. When standing at his full seven feet tall height, with the same cloak, but heavy, dark bronze-colored, steel armor resting on his torso, forearms, knees and shins he probably weighs nearly 350 pounds, he is a sight to behold. He is all muscle and the fastest of all the Generals, one reason he is the Grandmaster General (“Master” for short), another is that he has conceived battle plans that marvel those of the great Gregin Wraxian. He strokes his big red beard, and mustache with hints of gray. The scars across his right cheek and under his left eye signify many deadly battles with the drones and cyborgs. Of course there are those scars that remain unseen, under his armor, and the emotional scars...
Shifting his bulky weight under his heavy metal armor, he continues his plan, “So I think that if we send one to the processing plant and the other to Fortress Strotham...”
He points out the places on a large map, it is wrinkled and crudely drawn out, but it is all the humans have for now. He continues talking to all those before him, “By working together psychically they can destroy these two major points at the same time, giving us time to replenish our forces, and take their forces out. For a time, SIEGE, however has been known to spit these things out hundreds at a time, especially the drones, which as you all know are weak, but can become powerful when grouped together.”
The Generals nod and murmur their agreements. General Ryder, to the Master’s right, an all-American army/martial arts man with a black crewcut, a very sleek and clean cut man, and wearing the same armor as his Master, only a few ounces lighter.
“Master, with all due respect,” General Ryder begins.
Sitting to General Ryder’s left is a woman of British lineage, General Lacy whispers to the dark haired General Demetre, “Oh, dear, here it comes again.”
She has long black hair in a ponytail, and she too wears armor similar to Master Shawn only smaller and more suitable for her feminine figure. Her face is very elegant along with a lovely figure, her emerald green eyes move toward General Ryder then to Master Shawn. Demetre’s long dark hair hanging past his shoulders, along with his pale skin, only his face showing, this, as well as his dark foreboding eyes all add to his mysterious demeanor. He wears coal black leather, with armor underneath, to match his hair and eyes.
General Ryder continues, “Isn’t being dependent on two lower class Fighters a bit risky, even if they have some kind of…” General Ryder enforces his ideas with elaborate hand motions, “…psycho ability?”
Master Shawn calmly corrects one of his more tenacious Generals, “General Ryder, I do not think you realize the brevity of our situation. You should be more respectful of my command, besides do you not recall saving the two youngsters. And its psychic ability.”
“Ryder, how about demoting yourself and seeing if you can still make it through the Marathon?” Demetre remarks.
Ryder’s expression is anger and shock, “What?!”
Demetre just smirks, Master Shawn intervenes, “Cool it you two, we have enough enemies without having to fight each other.”
Even though Demetre’s origin is still a little fuzzy, Master Shawn still trusts him undoubtedly.
“Master, if I may make a suggestion?” To the direct left of Master Shawn is his Battle Advisor, a much elder looking man of Canadian descent, General Bamerd, short dark hair with gray streaks, the many scars show much more years of fighting, not only against the cyborgs, but elsewhere as well.
“General Bamerd, as always your suggestions are honored,” Master Shawn bows.
“Master has a good point, the brothers have both scored high on all training exams, along with making the second highest, and third highest in the Marathon,” General Bamerd addresses the other Generals, “To be frank, with the right leadership, the two could turn the tide of the war, of course, to our favor.”
“General Carlos?” Master Shawn indicates the lowest ranking General.
Last but certainly not least, sitting to Bamerd’s right, General Carlos, a man of Spanish descent, a dark tan complexion with short dark curly hair resting on his head. He has a great flare for fighting and for the ladies.
“I have nothing more to add,” Carlos speaks with his Hispanic accent, “Except I believe we should all get drunk and lai...”
“Sir? Fighter Hagen reporting,” Hagen announces his presence, he comes to attention, Warren follows suit, “A tank with ten escorts and an Air Demon, was seen by Scout Warren, heading south by southwest, they could be going for the training grounds, sir.”
“Right, thank you, at ease gentlemen,” the two newcomers place their hands behind their back (at ease).
Master Shawn turns to Michael, “General Ryder, send your forces there, not too many. Negate the threat, and return here when all cyborg forces have been diminished.”
“Yes, sir!” He stands and is about to leave when...
“Master Shawn,” Ryder stops, seeing that Warren and Hagen are both rather anxious to go with him, he turns back to Master Shawn, “Requesting permission that Scout Warren and Fighter Hagen assist me on this mission!” He quickly declares, bowing at the same time.
Shawn contemplates the request, “Hmm... Alright, it will be a good experience for you two! But be wary, something’s up, I feel it in my bones.”
“Yes, sir!” The two answer at the same time and leave with General Ryder.
“You two stick close to me, I wouldn’t want to have to pick your fried bones from a mangled cyber-wreck!!” He then leaps into the thick trees of Derin Forest.
“Yes, sir!!” The two declare again, simultaneously, following their General.
They both know to become a General you have to have defeated twenty cyborgs at once, followed by an Air Demon and at least one Destroyer. Not necessarily in that order...
Warren once witnessed a General slay a Destroyer, a very difficult task indeed. As the three fighters practically fly through the trees, blurring past any human-detecting devices, Hagen recollects when General Ryder saved him. A robot had gone awry...
“He was still a fighter then, he wasn’t nearly as strong then as he is now. But he was still able to tear the metallic freak apart, that is after the thing had already trashed our house, killed our parents and took our sister...”
The memory quickly fades away as they stop at the encampment of the General’s fifty men. A large dark green army-type tent stands with two very big men as guards, however somewhat unnecessary, for inside the tent are fifty of General Ryder’s finest fighting men.
“Alright men!” He quickly announces his presence, takes a sharp breath, he blows through his tight lips, and the shrill noise fills the tent, “Let’s go! Let’s go! This not a drill! Move it! Move it! Move it!”
The fifty men awake and move with precision and stealth as they hastily obtain their armor clothing and cloaks, fitting them quickly.
“Captain Josiah! Captain Reagan!”
“Yes, sir!!” A man a bit bigger than Hagen stands at attention to the right of the General. His red hair cut into a flattop just as all the other men do also.
Another on the opposite side, with light brown hair, also in flattop, “Yes, sir!!’
“Are your men ready!?”
“Sir, yes, sir!!” Captain Josiah, with a southern accent, has no choice but to answer with this reply, whether the men are ready or not, for the General would find a new Captain.
Following Josiah’s lead, Reagan answers immediately after him, “Sir, yes, sir!!”
“Good follow me,” General Ryder moves them outside, into the cold rain,
“These two will be assisting me,” He indicates the two brothers, “This is Sergeant Hagen Darcon and his brother Scout Warren. Sergeant Hagen, his brother, and Captain Reagan will lead twenty-five of Reagan’s men to the training grounds where a tank and ten escorts with an Air Demon were seen heading. Captain Josiah and I will take his twenty-five with me. Everyone got it??”
“SIR, YES, SIR!!” The fifty yell in unison.

“Alrighty then, let’s move ‘em out!!” Ryder takes his group to the left and Hagen and Warren’s group goes to the right.
The twenty-five men move swiftly and quietly through the wet trees, by this time it had stopped raining hard and was down to a small trickle. Led by Sergeant Hagen and Captain Reagan they take the easiest and fastest route to the training grounds where the youngsters train hard to become cyber-fighters. Ryder’s group crosses the path made by the cyber-tank. The men quickly leap making no noise as they rush and jump across. As they continue, all twenty-five men well trained and battle ready follow their General with great anticipation of a fight. Fighting the cyborgs gets promotions, promotions get respect, and respect gets things done, it is also something drives the fighters to win at any cost.
Warren and Hagen’s assemblage arrives on the edge of the continually growing woods. Forests prosper in the places where Human Resistance Force has secured from SIEGE’s forces. Hagen places his right fist in the air next to his right ear, signaling the men to hold their positions high within the safety of the trees.
Warren eyes the training buildings, whispering to Hagen, “No signs of trouble, they must still be resting. That’s all we really did, train, eat, sleep, train, eat, and sleep... I remember it well...”
Suddenly, Warren hears the all too familiar rumbling of the cyber-tank, the trees on the edge of the forest fall with great force to the earth.
“That’s it!! Let’s go!!” Hagen gives the next signal to attack. The men leap from the trees like squirrels from a wild fire. With the led-heavy cloak undetectable by the cyber-devices, the men bear the attack down hard on the ten cyber-escorts. They fight with great ferocity and accuracy.
Two fighters, Jones and Bren, take on one cyborg. Jones, a large black man, spins, kicking the side of the cyborg’s head, while Bren kicks the cyborg’s leg backwards, while Jones finishes it by punching it under the chin. Electric circuits and sparks fly about as the fighters literally take the cybernetic humans apart. Another cyborg grabs Jones’s huge right arm twisting it about, even though Jones tries to fight against the cyborg’s strength, he is unable to keep his ligaments and bone from breaking. Jones slams his left hand against the left side of the cyborg’s head, stunning him, then smashing his left knee against the right side of the cyborg’s cerebral unit. After finishing a cyborg off by leaping, twirling, and sending his right leg out extremely fast and hard against its head. The cyborg spins through the air, and crashes into the ground. Warren turns to see Hagen execute an ‘Energy Move’ against another. Hagen places his hands above his head, light blue energy vibrates around his hands, the energy focuses and concentrates into an orb of force.
“HHEERRRAAAAAHHHH!!!” Hagen releases the power just as the cyborg punches at him, but the energy ball reaches the cyborg first, causing the automaton to barrel into a nearby tree, it falls to the ground in a mutilated pile of sparks. At that moment Ryder’s gathering reach their destination.
Ryder quickly takes charge, “Fighters thirteen to twenty-two!! Blast the tank immediately!!”
Ten men from behind the General, channeling energy from within their own bodies, they immediately launch large globes of energy from their hands, while still in the air. Each one aimed directly at the tank, Warren adds his own little spice to the fiesta. Warren, recently studying the Yang chi, the negative chi energy within a person’s mind and body, rapidly pulls power from the shadows and directs it into a beam of dark electrical energy. The beam drills a hole big enough for a large dog to crawl through, the other fighters’ energy blasts become drawn into the hole and the entire tank swells, then explodes in a burst of fire and metal. The other fighters quickly dodge, or create a shield of the same energy they used to attack, to protect from the burning shrapnel.
“YEE-AAH!!” Warren and Hagen shout together. Their celebration however is far from over. The Air Demon shows itself by abruptly firing a mini-gun that has armor piercing bullets. The terribly lightning fast metal projectiles chew up several fighters. Ryder uses his strong steel reinforced armor, which is also sewn onto the outer part of his cloak, to shield himself from the horrid rain of hot lead.
“Hagen!!” Warren spins about dodging the gunfire, while looking for his older brother.
“Warren!!!” Hagen flips a good-sized chunk of the metal that blew off the tank, and as he holds it on his back, the strong metal deflects the bullets. Then a super white laser beam burns into the ground a few feet from Warren, his adrenaline pumps even faster now; allowing him to gain the speed necessary to evade the tremendous laser. Two panels shift on each side of the Air Demon, they slide back into the side as they flatten out. Two large round columns push out, around fifty holes are in the front the columns, and they turn vertical towards the humans. The robot inside presses a few buttons, pressurized air expands and flaming projectiles begin launching from the holes. The missiles spill down into the area, one hits directly on a fighter disintegrating him and the ground surrounding him. Another missile discharges behind Warren, throwing him into the dashing Hagen, Hagen drops the metal and catches Warren still smoking from the explosion then rolling into the nearby woods. Hagen lays him behind some bushes for, hopefully, safe cover.
“Wait! HAGEEEN!!!” Warren yells to his brother but it goes unheard. Leaping high into the air, Hagen brings forth the energy needed to destroy the Air Demon. The atmosphere ripples with power, an immense increase in Hagen’s chi level. A missile soars out, striking directly into Hagen’s chest! Somehow he was able to absorb the explosive power and sends a beam of electrical force at the flying devil. At first it simply rebounds away from it, its armor being able to withstand many types of attack.
Drawing from his own strength within, combining it with the absorbed power, Hagen discharges all his vigor to destroy the Air Demon. Eventually the armor is not enough and the electrical might forces its way to the interior of the machine causing it to malfunction and explode from the inside. The metal shell crashes to the ground with titanic force, the robot’s head unit rolls out. General Ryder crushes it under the heel of his boot. Hagen falls along with it, his energy expended; he no longer is able to defy the law of gravity. Warren can feel his brother’s fear and moves from under his hiding place, standing up, looking to the sky, he sees his brother falling. But he has not recovered enough, General Ryder, on the other hand, has recovered, places his arms underneath Hagen. He falls weak into Ryder’s powerful arms. The trainees are now seen standing in awe at the events that just took place, their leader in front making sure none try to join the fight, knowing full well, they will get killed.
“It’s over! You can all go back to bed,” Ryder announces. With that the leader motions them back to their cabins.
Then to Warren who limps over to the General, “Your brother was very brave, but nearly killed himself in the process, you nearly got killed yourself. I want this to be a lesson to both of you...”
Warren bows, “Yes sir!” then coughs.
“Quickly, we must get back to the camp, before anymore arrive.”
“What about--?”
“They’ll be fine. Once the scout cyborgs arrive they’ll leave after they gather any scraps they can. They won’t even scan for human activity, besides the inside of the cabins are lined with led, but that will keep them safe for only so long,” the General pauses, then turns to his men, “Alright, let’s go!!”
The twenty-three men that are left uninjured hastily gather the wounded, as always, those that are still breathing, and leap their way back to the camp.
“Master Shawn, sir!” Ryder enters the Master’s tent, he is alone, with his back turned to the General, “We have returned. My forces suffered heavy damage, but nothing we can’t replace. I suggest we move the training camp, for if they find it they-“
The Master interrupts, “Do not worry about that. The Elite Guard are ready to return from their training in the Himalayas and we will finally crush the infernal SIEGE.” Shawn spins about, his mighty right fist tight with fury.
“The-the-the... Elite Guard!” Ryder stammers with shock.

The Elite Guard are 400 male and 500 female babies that were sent to the Himalayan mountains, firstly as a simple experiment but once the news of the war had reached them, it was time to change the experiment’s variables. The ones that survived are to be picked up, and brought to America, the strongest of the Human Resistance Force. While surviving, scientists would take them and teach them to speak, the ways of the Fighters and many other things. So not only will they be the strongest in body, but in mind as well.

hotsauce6548> ummm... Okay, even though my book has almost nothing to do with Dragonball Z, except the fact that the Fighters are able to perform energy moves, what's your point???
drunknazgul> no you do not get alot of money, and no you don't have to sell your soul (i know what you meant), if you got the book finished submit it to them they should respond with 3 to 4 days, a week at the most. Then they send an author questionaire, and before you respond to that you get a chance to make any last minute changes and such.. Like i said they are very nice and work with you any way they can.

Michael Ryder was not selected, but he was still proud to be a General. However, the idea of the Elite Guard coming to America and finally ridding the world of the horrible computer system is something to be admired.
“Do you have word on how many there are sir??”
“Not yet, but it is rumored to be around 130, both men and women.”
“Sir, this is all very good news, this will also give Hagen and Warren, as soon as he recovers from his injuries, enough time-“
“Warren was injured?” Shawn questions the General.
“Yes, but he will be up and about within the hour, sir,” The Master nods his head in agreement, “But like I was saying, this will give Sergeant Hagen and his brother, Scout Warren, the chance they need to take out the processing planet and generating fortress. Along with some of my best men-“
“General Demetre will send his men with them, and will distract any guards there. Your men are still recovering.”
The General had been interrupted again, but he knew the Master was the best at battle strategies, so he never argued. He was often in conflict with himself, about whether he should voice his opinion.
Master Shawn insists, “That will be all General. A good night to you.”
“Yes sir, the same to you,” General Ryder leaves and walks with his heart heavy back to his tent.

* * *

It is nearly dawn; the trainees awake from a very restless sleep. The leader begins the daily training with some warm-up exercises, when a messenger arrives and whispers to the leader they need to relocate...
“...Now! Direct orders from Master Shawn!” With a quick salute the messenger is back into the wood from whence he came.
“Alright, ladies! Get your stuff together, we’re movin’ out!!”
“YES, SIR!” The units of seventy or so men hastily move to their bunks in the cabins and load their clothes and other personal items in a duffel bag. They have been relocated many times, so this is a normal routine, and makes training all that much harder. Making their way back out the cabin, the leader decides to test them. He leaps onto the roof and with a laser rifle he had stolen the night before begins blasting at the ground around them. The trainees look as though they are dancing about as the ground sparks and smoking rocks fly about. Some panic, dropping their bags, but stop and turn around when they hear the muscle-headed leader laughing, loudly.
“HA!HA!HA! Pathetic! You boys better shape up, if you think you’re gonna take on them cyborgs!!” He leaps down to the ground, “Let’s move out!!”
He and the entire legion marches along side the edge of the mammoth forest, with even more immense trees. At least thirty to sixty feet tall and some ten feet around, they make excellent cover for traveling and training.

* * *

Meanwhile back at the Master and Generals’ makeshift camp...
Warren is back on his feet with bandages covering his back. He rolls his shoulders around, with his left hand, he reaches behind his damaged back, grabbing his right hand and stretches his arms straight out and up almost touching the back of his head with his hands. He straightens back up, rolls his head back and forth, his neck pops and cracks.
“Aaahh!” Warren sighs. He looks over at the Hagen’s cot, he is no longer there, nor his things. He looks through the opening of the tent. He can hear his brother and General Ryder speaking, but not their distinct words.
“Yes, sir!” Hagen says, then rushes into the tent, “What are you doing?!”
Warren is dumbfounded.
“Get your stuff together!! Geez! I let you sleep a little longer and it goes straight to your head!”
Now, Warren is irritated, he had no idea he had slept late...
“Let’s go! Don’t just stand there!!”
Warren whirls around quickly putting his normal clothing on and placing his worn cloak about shoulders. Warren stuffs his other things into his bag with writing and drawings all over it, and whirls back around.
“Good! We’ve been selected for a very important mission. Because of our powerful psychic abilities we’re going to take out two cyborg places at the same time!”
“Cool! It’s about time!!”
Hagen explains, “We’ll roll up our tent and catch up with the rest.”
The early morning fog creates even more critical cover for the humans. They travel through the woods, this time walking for they are in no hurry to get to their next encampment set up elsewhere. Even with the extra weight, Warren and Hagen are able to move rather quickly through the thick forest. During their trek, they try to strengthen their psychic bond, by actually communicating with, which they finally call, Mindspeak...
“Now, move to the left,” Hagen thinks to Warren, seconds before he slams into a large tree. As he falls downward he shifts his body in time to miss the tree, and stops on the ground, opening his eyes, letting out a deep breath.
“Man, this is exhausting, but we have to-o, to-o...”
“Warren! I’m losing you man!” Hagen focuses his mind. Then he suddenly snaps back to reality. Looking forward he notices an unusually dark, twisted tree, at least a hundred feet tall and it appears to be half that as its thickness. Warren pauses a few feet from the trunk, seeing now that it is a wicked, black bark.
Hagen is curious, “What is this!? I haven’t noticed it before.”
“I don’t know... It’s pretty cool though,” Warren adds.
“Yeah,” Hagen hesitates, “But it sure is big, and wicked looking though.”
Warren reaches his hand out, a few inches away; he can feel pain and cold run through his body. He shivers, and pulls his hand back.
“I felt it, too,” Hagen whispers.
“Do you think the others--?!” Before he could finish it verbally, Hagen already knew what he was asking.
“I suppose, but most likely not, they took the trail by the river,” Hagen enlightens his brother, “C’mon, I think we should head that way, too.”
“Right,” Warren responds. The two brothers smile at each other, like they had done many times before. They had discussed it, the idea that if they had not been born around the beginning of the War. They would never have been as close as they are; the fighting and training had caused them to bond together. Their Uncle Winston Darcon had taken care of them until Michael Ryder, a Master of the Martial Arts, saved them. He was a fighter for the newly formed Human Resistance Force, Ryder introduced them to Master Shawn, an even higher Master than Michael. That was a long time ago, Warren and Hagen, their lineage had been hailed throughout time, for being in a strong family, not only in mind and body, but in soul as well.

The Martial Artists were all that survived the Assimilation: the highly powerful computer system codenamed SIEGE, had taken hold on nearly every human that was near a computer. SIEGE commanded that they all assimilated into cybernetically enhanced androids, which combined both human flesh and blood with metal and wires. Losing their humanity, but not their intelligence, they became loyal to their robotic lord, SIEGE.
The hard-core Martial Arts trainers stayed in the forests and mountains, away from civilization, however, retaining all manners and memories of the Old Ways and the formations of army. So when Master Shawn figured out the humans were slowly being lured away, he began a search to find all the Martial Artists not touched by the horrid technology. Once a team was formed they begin fighting back against the cyborgs; Master Shawn brought structure and order to the fighters. Order in the way of Captains and Generals, from the army, but the ranking was from the way of the ancient Martial Arts.
Eventually, Master Shawn being the first, they learned to channel the energy from within their own body, an ancient technique called Chi. The Chi was separated into Yin and Yang, a circle divided into two portions of black and white by a horizontal ‘S’. These black and white portions represent the Yin and Yang theory of eternal duality, which exists within nature. These dualities exist as a principle of the universe. Yin Chi is the positive energy, light, being calm and Yang Chi, the negative energy, dark, being angry. Both once conjured and controlled then released properly are able to defeat cyborgs with ease, the Yin Chi was harder to conjure because anger was much easier to create than calmness.
The Yang Chi being summoned, however, sometimes led to uncontrollable surges of power, working against the humans. Therefore the Yin Chi is more likable, more controllable, but used more for healing and defense than attack. Once a Fighter is able to control the Yin and Yang Chi and attack with it, that Fighter is a force to be reckoned with...

Well, I didn't mean to come off as "Well, My book is not anything like Dragonball Z, how dare you say that?" I was just asking about what similarities you saw in the characters and storyline! I must admit I am fan of DBZ and some things from the show leaked into my book, besides have you seen the uncut Japanese version of DBZ, that may change your mind! anywho it is being published, and I may have made a mistake by giving a sneak peek this early, because it may be months before it hits bookshelves!! Sorry, you may have to wait longer than you expected, I'll give some more previews, and I'm sure the website we'll be up soon, with a forum, FAQ sections, and preview section!! Its gonna rock, I can't wait!!! Thank you for saying that you did like it, I did not mean to be rude if I seemed that way...
