My Sorting Hat Song

Very old you say I am
Ratty and out of date
But do not judge to harshly
For I control your fate
I can guarantee to you
I'm not the strangest sight you'll see
So put me on so I can tell you
At which table you should be
If you're like Godric Gryffindor
And chivalry is your way
Daring, bold and bravest hearts
To his table go always
There was sweet Helga Hufflepuff
Patience was her virtue
If you are loyal, hard-working and justice
Her's is the place for you
If you're of the wise and witty
And cleverness in you burns
To Rowena Ravenclaw's fair house
Where they always love to learn
But if you have a cunning nature
And your ambition never wavers
If you love power and are very shrewd
It's Salazar Slytherin's house you'll favor
By these four I was enchanted
To decide forever more
Which table those should sit at
Who enter Hogwart's doors
Badger, Lion, Eagle, Serpent
Which ever is your kind
Step right up, if you know or not
For I will find it in your mind

I wish I could reach out and touch you Harry
Just for a moment, just one hug
I wish I could speak and have you hear me Harry
Just for a moment, to give you my love

It hurts me to think of you growing up Harry
Without our guidence, without our love
It hurts me to think of you wondering Harry
Without us to explain why we watch from about

It scares me to know you're in danger Harry
Hunted by evil, hunted night and day
It scares me to know he's still out there Harry
Hunted by the one who took us away

I wish I could tell you what happened there Harry
Back in that haven, back in that time
I wish I could tell you the things you loved Harry
Back when I use to sing you lullabyes

It hurts me to see you in pain Harry
Feeling sad, feeling alone
It hurts me to know you feel unloved Harry
Feeling as if you have no where to go

It scares me to know I am helpless Harry
Watching through glass, watching you learn
It scares me to know I can't help you Harry
Watching from a place from which I cannot return

I wish I could be there beside you Harry
Be there to comfort, be there to cure
I wish I could be there right with you Harry
Be there to be who I am, your mother.

Tends to miss curfue

Harry is handsome
His eyes are so blue

Harry is loved
By witches and wizards too
But I loved another
Though I don't think he knew

Harry is a savior
Saved all from You-Know-Who
But I knew another
Cedric was my savior too
