Who knows Pet Semitary?

Aye, now there you got a funny movie.
What did you found the most BLEEGH scene out of the 1st and 2nd movie both? I watched all, and didn't find some part nastly, exept for the heel, you know, when gare cuts in that heel!

I think its so stupid that the man in the 1st movie burries everybody in there, but okay, thats my opinion.
In the second, the dead dog is cute stick out tongue roll eyes (sarcastic)

The book was great. The movie was good. And you spelled Cemetary wrong.

I don't normally watch horror movies involving animals, but I have seen the first Pet Cemetary. It wasn't too bad.

Pet Semetary vs Stephen King originals

Ay,

The movie did suck. What you really have to understand though is that all the Stephen King books that were made into movies sucked. Mostly because of two factors:

1. Either by the director's "creative" vision or copyright infringement issues that branch from Stephen King disagreeing with the director's creative interpretation. Copyright issues force the director to add/cut certain scenes to keep the movie within the agreed on copyright boundaries. For the most part this affects the movie in a profoundly negative way, but the show must go on and the director is forced to make due with what restrictions and leeway they have with a film.

2. The movie strays completely from the original intent of the book. This is kind of the result of the first scenario. If you read Pet Semetary, Carrie, Tommyknockers...etc (the list goes on and on), and then watch the movie, you'll notice that there are very drastic changes in the story's plot. This is what I like to call the "Lite-Beer Watered-Down Effect".

Carrie is a perfect example of book-to-movie gone awry. The casting was great, but the plot is what killed the movie. Carrie's retaliation is one scene that I find to be a significant part of the plot. In the book, after Carrie is humiliated at her prom, she goes out and demolishes practically the whole town, killing hundreds of people and exploding gas tanks with downed power lines. Stephen King's horrific genius was tampered with ("watered down") in the movie. Carrie retaliates by burning down the high school gym, killing probably around...100 extras and John Travolta. Not as exciting ay?
However, the mistakes made in the original movie version of Carrie were corrected in the remake (2000-01 maybe), as this version remained faithful to the book.

Happy Dance

That's what pisses me off.Stephen Kings Books are great but as soon as their made into movies itruins it.Cause the movie is so different from the book and it just takes away from the real story.Pet Semetary was a great book. The movie was so-so.The second was garbage. They ruined the whole thing.I hate it when they do that.Almost all the movies based on te books are trash.Only a select few are good. The only scene in the movie Pet Semetary that ges to me is when the little boy is hit by the trailor truck I was like 6 or 7 so it affected me and I cried for a long time. Then he comes back to life and then he dies again.I was young so I sobbed some more but I stand by my statement.Movies **** up some great books sometimes.Even the book Jaws was better than the movie. The book is always better.

List of Stephen King books turned into crappy movies:
It
Carrie
Cujo
Landoliers (or however its spelled)
Sometimes They Come Back
Sleeepwalkers
Grey Matter (which I think was actually in a sort of Creepshow movie)
Lawnmower Man
The list just goes on and on so Im going to stop. But also Stephen King is in a lot of the crappy movies that are based on his books so can it really be said that its just the director's fault?

I've just watched it and it was pretty good, i particularly love the song playing over the end credits, although not scary i found some parts particularly disturbing [SPOILER - highlight to read]: particularly when the Gage dies ,definitely worth a look.

I thought it was funny when the little kid got run over in the 2nd one. However i like the movie IT, and im looking to rent it again soon and watch it. I enjoy the book and the movie alike. But almost all of the other Stephen King Book-to-Movie conversions were CRAP.

Every time I read a Stephen King book I get the feeling that he spent ages writing a book then finished it in about 20 minutes. All of his books have that same kind of feel to them.
