Steven Speilberg - Jaws
Clive Barker - Hellraiser
Brad Anderson - Session 9
Neil Marshall - Dog Soldiers
Michael J. Basset - Wilderness
Edgar Wright - Shaun of the Dead
Ruggero Deodato - Cannibal Holocaust
Tobe Hooper - Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Francis Ford Coppola - Bram Stoker's Dracula
Barker and Hooper directed one REALLY good movie each. Not that they haven't done anything alright since then, but I wouldn't consider them favorites based on one flick alone.
I forgot to mention Neil Marshall. Dog Soldiers and The Descent are awesome.
Edgar Wright, same, only directed one. He's coming out with a police comedy with the stars of Shaun which looks good.
