The trailer looks pretty good. I just dont understand how this isnt a rip off of stephen kings "The Cell" story? The premise is pretty much identical. When you write a script for a movie is there no process where they verify its an original work before your granted a copyright? Just lookin for someone to show me the light on this.

It doesnt look as apocalyptic, violent or chaotic as Stpephen kings "the cell" but yeah, looks to be the same concept. Im sure King's idea for the cell was not original either though.
Its been an old strategy in hollywood for studio's to copy movie concepts so that the film will release before the other studio's film. IF the script has buzz and is caught soon enough, it will most likely be made by another studio in similar adaptation.

Looking forward to this much more than a Cell movie adaptation. Cell started of most impressively, but it should have continued in the vien of that Signal trailer. Seems to me that The Signal is more about the direct effects of a society overrun by maniacs, and a whole lot more graphic, just like I wanted Cell to be
I liked Cell, I just expected/desired the chaos and mayhem in the first part to continue to be a main ingredient through the story. It went on a little to slow for my expectations.
I just got a chance to watch this movie. I am sorry but dispite what the writers said, this IS a rip from "Cell". The premise is modified, but after seeing the conclusion there was no doubt. It basically has an identical conclusion with a different device, even cutting the scene at the same time.
With that gripe aside, The movie is actually pretty good. It is very gorey and the acting was well done. I recommend it.

I just watched this last night. I know it had a low budget, but we could have been given some more perspective of thie level of chaos other than one shot with the city in the background, smoking. I also thought the humor hurt the movie. I almost gave up on it during the apartment scene with louis, the wife, the dead husband and the stranger. It felt like i was watching shawn of the dead. I really did not appreciate that. It went from serious, to sarcastic, to torture porn, to the wrap up. It is watchable and some of you cats may like it

Same here. I thought it was going to be a good movie. The first few minutes was ok but it went downhill after the apartment scene. The comedic side ruined it for me as well. I was expecting a horror movie.

Yeah, the first fifteen minutes had me quite excited for the second and third acts. right before take off, however, the plane decided to stay grounded and drive full speed into the ocean
