Anyone like Halloween III's anthology idea plan?

I mean the idea was after Halloween 2 when Michael was suppose to be destroyed forever in the ending as he was cooking in his shoes with his masked fused to his skull and become kindling as later his would have to be removed with a chimney sweep, lol as he was sent to hell.

John Carpenter and Debra Hill had enough of Michael and wanted his story to be over, they came up with a unique idea to transform the franchise into a big screen horror anthology of different Halloween themed horror stories every year like Tales from The Crypt, Tales from The Darkside, Grindhouse, Night Gallery or Twilight Zone of different villains and different horrors that beyond and in Haddonfield.

Halloween III was the first and only attempt at this concept, unfortunately they didn't marketed or told the audience the idea in trailers or in the media thus it confused the audience and it bombed but it developed a cult following over the years for being brave to attempt this unique idea.

Why not instead of the same remake of the first masterpiece? i would had love to see this idea come to fruitation instead of just knife-porn.

But who thinks Carpenter should had done this idea with part 2 and left Michael alone after part 1? i mean part 2 made the mistake of having another Michael movie and it established him that he would be in every sequel.

If it were done from the start it really just would have been Tales from the Crypt. We like sequels with characters we remember. We don't like investing our emotions(love, hatred, fear, ect) on characters and have a part 2 come out where they aren't in it.

Look at how many sequels flop because they take out our beloved main character or switch the actor/actress. I remember being extremely pissed after watching Halloween 3. It was a horrible movie in it's own right but to sully the good Halloween name was salt in the wound! The fact that they basically tricked everybody was awful.

Don't get me wrong i loved Are You Afraid of the Dark and Tales but the ever changing stories and characters belong on the small screen to be enjoyed on a weekly basis. Not charging people money for something like that especially since there are several duds when doing that.

Personally I always liked this idea. We could've had the equivalent of like, Gozilla movies but for Halloween here. If this had been done they could have possibly made an entire universe of anthology stories opening the possibility for crossover stories down the road, even continue stuff like the Michael Myers story, and probably have made it seem less stale and played out.

Personally, I enjoy the fact that there's a new Paranormal Activity movie every year, but... it sucks that they have to continuously go to the same basic storyline/types of scares because it's all part of the same franchise (not to mention the fact that no one who makes PA movies has any decent type of vision in terms of HOW to actually make a horror movie, much less a different/new one). If Halloween has become an anthology movie series it would probably bring better stories/plots to screen because it would likely become something a lot of directors would want to sink their teeth into. It *could* also turn out like crap, but I always thought it was an interesting idea to go with.
