I've been learning a few songs at the same time. I get bored learning one. If I get frustrated learning one I'll leave it, try something else then come back to it. Here's a few of the most recent ones.
Guns and Roses - Sweet Child O Mine.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop & Under The Bridge
Nirvana - All Apologies
I've also managed to master the Metal Gear Solid tune - love it.
I also accidentally managed to suss out Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand, and Enter Sandman by Metallica I wasn't even attempting to play them 
I always learn each song on the instrument they were played, but I always end up playing acoustic songs on the electric and vice versa.

I believe it was a number of pieces from Star Wars Episode 1; I play percussion in our high school's concert band. It was either that or Bohemian Rhapsody (concert band).
