Bad covers?

What covers have you heard that make you cringe when you remember the original?

Personally, Metallicas cover of whisky in the jar has me banging my head against a wall everytime. But what covers do you really hate?

any pop band that covers a classic...there is some generic boy band currently doing a cover version of a tracey chapman song that makes want to go out and kill people

Ah, so it was Joss Stone who did it! I was wonderring....

*declares open season on Joss Stone*

It's an awful cover. She sings it all horribly and OTT pop princess-like.

Fell in love with a boy
fell in love once and almost completelaaaaaay
he's in love with the world
but sometimes these feelings
can be so misleadeeeeeeeng
He turns and says "are you alright?"
I said "I must be fine cause my heart's still beataaaaang"
He says "come and kiss me by the riverside, bobby says it's fine he don't consider it cheataaaaaang"

So annoying.

Limp Bizkit covering "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who.

Alien Antfarm did a good job on "Smooth Criminal" IMO. And The Atari's weren't too bad with "Boys of Summer" by Don Henly.

I think we can all agree on Avril Lavigne's version of Chop Suey?

Maroon 5's version of Closer by NIN is really shit.

Agreed. Don't know why so many people had a problem with that, it was a great cover, really funny as well.

Bad covers...I saw Pink Floyd mentioned above, so Korn's cover of Another Brick In The Wall springs to mind. And Korn's cover of Metallica's One. Oh yeah and their cover of Cameo's Word Up.

Staind's cover of Bring The Noise by Public Enemy is also blood-curdling bad.

I havnt heared a cover of Nirvana aside from Heartbreaker, but that was thier first live recording at thier first show, so its not in the same league as an actually produced cover song.

Maroon 5 did a cover of Closer? Thats bloody disgusting.
