They Hyphy Movement
okay, im originally from LA, i love it down there. But I moved up to Nor Cal back in August, more specifically Bay area, east bay and such...the music scene/culture here is completely different than in So Cal..
the hyphy movement is just wild here!! Its great! but im curious as to how the rest of the US and more specifically how So Cal views it.
I mean as of late there was alot of hip hop influence coming from the east coast with Jermaine Dupre and just the Atalanta type feel... and LA has a distinct flare too with Snoop Dogg and such but how does everyone else regard the "hyphy movement"
Specifically E40s song that came out "Tell me when to go"
any thoughts?

Hyphy has been going on for a long time in the Bay Area to my knowledge. (i think since 94 since E-40 released an album) I'm not much of a fan of E-40, but there are ton's of great mc's there.
Too Short, Spice 1, Blackalicious, Zion I, Hieroglyphics, Lateef & Lyrics Born, Mac Dre, Mac Mall, The Crest Creepaz, Keak the Sneak, Mossie, Frontline, Money Gang, Mistah Fab, etc...
How Lil'Jon started the Crunk revolution garbage, he got that all from the Bay Area. The difference i see in hyphy and crunk, is that hyphy actually has some diversity in the beat making, and lyrically has something to say, while Crunk is just random shouts followed with more random shouts.
and the only thing Jermaine Dupre is gonna influence is brain cancer that man does not know how to make beats.
