Funk

Maybe we could use this topic 2 discuss funk.

James Brown, Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, Gap Band, Fatback Band... whatever.

I mean like... anything funky.

Primus and Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains are awesome funk stuff.

Primus, aren't they like kinda funky metal?
They do have some funky bassplaying tho.

This is an awesome song:

Another cool metal song that's kinda funky is this one, love it:

Here's the original song BTW, I prefer the cover. (The original sucks)

No matter how cliche, Jungle Boogie is my favorite funk song so far.

Primus is more or less metal. It really varies from song to song.

RATM definitely has some funk to them and when I think about it, Red Hot Chili Peppers can be really funky at times.

I've never really got into Afrika Bambaataa but I'm not a huge funk listener. I tend to prefer other styles of music with funk incorporated into it. I do like Maggot Brain by Funkadelic a lot though.

Lol, altough Maggot Brain is considered a funkclassic it's very similar to rock, no?

big grin

I mean like really, WTF? Funkadelic 1970-73 are they funk or rock?
I dunno.

They kinda continue where Jimi left with Band of gypsys and I like that.

And yeah Kool & The Gand got some nice joints.
