I am compiling a CD as a gift for my girlfriend to celebrate the upcoming one-year mark for our relationship, and was curious if anyone could give me any songs that kind of fit in with the ones I have, artist first, and then song title...
Ellegarden --- Make A Wish
Linkin Park --- Leave out All The Rest
Rie Fu --- Decay
Skye Sweetnam --- Tangled Up In Me
Avenged Sevenfold --- Gunslinger
Buckcherry --- Sorry
Seether/ Amy Lee --- Broken
Please and thanks, all.

Well, I suppose in some twisted way, some of them could be considered that... I'm looking for songs that might be to that effect without directly having that whole "Romantic Comedy Moment Of Realizing You've Fallen For Them" effect...

You're welcome. I looked through all of my music list but I kept most of the country and pop out. I think there's like 2 or 3 country songs in that list but they're really good, not corny or anything.
my mistake, i meant to say she doesn't like the same things as most of the female population around here...
and in any case, i listen to most of what Kel listed... i've never heard of a lot of them, but a quite a few, i've got in my personal library, and so i don't see why it's being targeted as "stuff girls listen to" as I happen to know quite a few who would prefer anything but the things on that list.
in any case, I digress.
EDIT: if anyone else would like to go off-topic in dissing her taste, please, don't spam up the music boards, take it to a PM with me, so we don't inconvenience anyone else on these boards.

Well, if she really isn't into shit the general female population likes, I made a CD for my girlfriend a while back and I put those and more on it:
180 AM - Grandaddy
12.51 - The Strokes
The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face - Johnny Cash
I Want You - Bob Dylan
There is A Light And It Never Goes Out - The Smiths
I Believe (When I Fall In Love) - Stevie Wonder
Also some Jeff Buckley, just cause he is so mind-numbingly awesome. He kinda made break up songs though
But she probably won't like any of it...it being good music.
if you're gonna put a buckcherry song on you might at least make it "crazy *****" that way you at least stand a chance of slipping her one because of the sheer sexiness of it

Re: Help Would Be Appreciated
seriously partner...,play her something by Eagle eye Cherry. It doesnt matter what. He is a great artist. He is soulfull cat that plays fullfilling jams that make you feel good. Some of his best though...Comatose, save tongiht Desireless, falling in love again, are you still having fun. GREAT GREAT ARTIST.
Caress me down,Rivers of babylon, bad fish or waiting for my ruca, by SuBlime are prime songs as well. Sublimes' music is all powerfully emotional, yet relaxing.
You may think im crazy, but a MUST have song for a relationship cd is the RAMONES rendition of, "what a wonderful world" ....fvcking priceless.
Beautifull Tonight, by Eric Clapton.
Mercy me by akaline trio, a little arctic monkeys, some white stripes, a bob Dylan jam, some creedence clear water rival and top it off with, bastards on parade, dirty glass, fields of athenry and ,as one by the dropkick murphys and you might just have yourself the most perfect rocking relationship cd
Trust me, you make her this cd and she will be listening to it for months to pass
