Wasn't some of the Vector promotional material a montage of Zayne Carrick, Vader, Cade and Luke Skywalker. Maybe I just read more into that than needed.

I think it would be hard to tie Zayne into the Skywalker family tree feasibly without angering anyone...

I can't say I see why anyone would be upset about it. After all, only Anakins birth was special, the rest of his ancestors had to come from someone.
