Did Vitiate's Death Field destroy buildings on Ziost?

These images show holograms of what was before Vitiate consumed Ziost. It has been claimed these were the result of Vitiate's Death Field, but as we see here, it just passes through them and there are even intact building in the back ground:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FNJ-8gdi8TA

So evidence points to the fact that Vitiate's Death Field did not cause the buildings to be destroyed, but more likely some of his other actions did. For example, Lana Beniko noted how war had literally broken out across the entire planet:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oN7GqV7fYSA (15:30)

"War has broken out across the globe."

Among the counter arguments I've seen is that TOR's engine wouldn't be good enough to show buildigs crumbling, but that's extremely shoddy evidence, tbh, and more like an excuse that an actual argument.

Vitiate could very well have caused the buildings to collapse via other means than the Death Field, possibly even indirectly, e.g. the planetary war that was just mentioned.

But if you have evidence it was the Death Field, then present it.

That and "ending all life" wouldn't include buildings All life can be destroyed and the buildings can remain intact.

I think what Ant is trying to say is that those holograms aren't intended to represent buildings destroyed by Vitiate, but archeological reconstructions of what those ancient ruins used to look like hundreds of years ago.

In which respect, I suppose we should consider this feat debunked. thumb up

Yoda gets a badass feat and Vitiate gets debunked all while Tempest makes his return...

A prophecy? Or mere coincidence?

When Palpatine's Force Storm descended on Coruscant, scenes of destruction in the setting where Luke Skywalker was present, were not due to the Storm but due to earlier battles. However, this doesn't implies that the Storm didn't inflict further damage.

Vitiate had transformed Ziost into a war zone before unleashing his signature power and a lot of infrastructure would have crumbled during that time but this doesn't implies that Vitiate's storm didn't inflict further damage. That power was literally shaking the space stations orbiting the planet. Violent tremors would have occurred across the surface of the planet and collapsed a large number of infrastructure. When you enter Ziost after the storm, you get to witness scenes of destruction that only violent tremors could wrought. You also get a mission in which you see waves of the storm disintegrating stuff including statues and such.

So videos and pictures won't tell you everything unless you play the game.

B/W Force Drain powers are not telekinetic forces. They are designed to affect living beings only. Vitiate's storm is the epitome of Force Drain ability; devastation of Ziost was a by-product of its intensity, not a part of its design.

You are speaking with ignorance. Archaelogical reconstructions do not tell us much about destruction, an earlier mission provides evidence of waves of Draining energy destroying hard stuff and we also notice disfiguring of formerly plain terrain by violent tremors that followed. thumb up

He enjoyed a successful (and classified) career as a spy in the Republic Strategic Information Service, neutralizing Dark Council members and ultimately teaming up with Sith Lord Lana Beniko in an attempt to stop the Sith Emperor's cataclysmic destruction of Ziost.

Taken from KOTET: Theron Shan

Really amusing to see Sheevites getting their @sses handed to them. thumb up

Your ugly crusade is nearing its end.

Your argument in this thread got debunked.

Your championing of Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun got debunked in another thread.

Your essay about Palpatine will be debunked next.

I suspect that you are about to suffer a nervous breakdown. Brace yourself for it.

But then we saw Nihilus' Hunger destroy buildings. So does that mean Nihilus>Vitiate?

Here is an example:

(please log in to view the image)

That was a huge structure.

Vitiate's power devastated Ziost; confirmed in the text that I cited:

He enjoyed a successful (and classified) career as a spy in the Republic Strategic Information Service, neutralizing Dark Council members and ultimately teaming up with Sith Lord Lana Beniko in an attempt to stop the Sith Emperor's cataclysmic destruction of Ziost.

Taken from KOTET: Theron Shan

Violent tremors might be responsible for disfigurement of lands and collapse of structures on Ziost, but they were a byproduct of Vitiate's power in turn.

----

Force Drain powers are not telekinetic forces. They are not supposed to destroy structures in the first place but this is my personal opinion.

Those could be violent tremors.

It is clearly stated in a codex entry that Vitiate's demonstration is the epitome of this Dark Side ability.
