Normally armies have like 10 enlisted ranks, 2 for privates, 3 for junior NCO, 5 for sergeants etc. and it's pretty much natural since officers command platoons and above of 36 people, so all these fuggots among these 36 have to have differing ranks and progression
meanwhile
typical SW army:
private, corporal, sergeant, staff sergeant, the end
Why lol

Yeah, but among the officers. As far as enlisted go the ranks are 3 times smaller than IRL usually.

The only differences in rank for whatever reason, was the GAR and the Republic Judicial Forces. More than likely due to the fact that the Republic didn't have a standing army for some time, as they more or less relied on Planetary Security Forces until the Clone Wars. Or just deciding to keep things simple.
Regardless, there are a ton of NCO and Officer ranks with the SW armies. At least stated for the GE and RA.

Welcome, yeah as noted they probably wanted to keep things simple and since Clones having a short life, it probably didn't make much sense to have all those ranks, so they might have just condensed em. That and Jedi filling the gaps.
But yeah, the GAR seems to be the only one with this sort of thing.
