Death of the Author in Star Wars

Discuss. How and when does Death of the Author apply to Star Wars material?

When AncientPower finally an hero's and we immortalise their works, such as the KoToR Deluxe Limited Edition Campaign Guide (Gloss Cover)

I think it applies almost always. Never been a fan of authorial intent like at all. Obviously exceptions can be made if for example a sourcebook listed AotC as taking place in 4000 BBY, we would simply assume it's an error and not a genuine attempt to retcon PT people as four millenia old by RotS.

Tom Veitch said Force storms can't be used on a whim by Palpatine and need 2 Force users conflicting in a mind battle to trigger them. That blatantly goes against the comic and databooks stating Palpatine doez then by himself and on a whim.

These things and more."

Facts in the lore trump non-canon author inputs, always. I mostly consider author intentions in the absence of other evidence to guide us in a particular direction.
