well if you feel that dying a slow death and quite possibly getting lung cancer is socially acceptable then by all means do it...if smelling like an ashtray is preferable to perfume or cologne...then go for it...
I am not driven by people’ s praise and I am not slowed down by people’ s criticism.
You only live once. But if you live it right, once is enough.
Make poverty history.
Stop aids, keep the promise.
I smoke, about 20 a day, unless I've got tobacco, that lasts so much longer. And to be honest, it's less socially acceptable nowadays than it was years ago, all of the health warnings and the like are really dousing them out.
If you really fear you're going to become addicted, stop smoking now, no matter how many you smoke, it will increase, believe me.
The fact that you've noticed is great, now all you have to do is stop. I'm not being hypocritical, I see nothing wrong with smoking if you want to, but in order to stop you have to want to. It's all down to will power.

Get out of here, get me some money too...
Very valid points. Smoking is a lifestyle choice, more often then not caused by peer pressure. However, like in my case, it is a matter of boredom. I quit, however.
As for quitting, it is all about you. No matter how much people tell you to quit, it will not happen until you want it to.
don't get me wrong...i have nothing against people who smoke and i do have a problem when they start to ban people from smoking in certain places but that's water under the bridge...but to start smoking just cause one thinks it's socially acceptable just because that's the status quo and one gives in to peer pressure then that becomes a problem...
The only person in my family that smokes is my grandad, and he never smokes in the house, because nobody can stand the smell.
Both my gran and my dad used to smoke, but quit when I was born, as they did not want the smoke around a baby.
Nope never smoked and never will...filthy habbit and totally pointless....then again it is good for us non-smokers as they get so heavily taxed for the ciggarettes, so other things aren't so high taxed....it's the only good thing that comes out of it.
the land is subsidized...the seeds need to be paid for...the workers that plant it and sow it...the factories, the lease on the factory...and so on...it's a vicious cycle of money being made so that one person who smokes can enjoy the fruits of it's labor...or so i've heard...
