I hate when the make a sequal 80 years later with new people and ruin the movie. What the hell was it about...how did it start..I am curious.

That was the problem. It was made fairly recently (hmm... this year according to IMDb) and with a whole new cast. But basically the same plot. Except that instead of a baseball, it was a rocket or something that went over the fence.
