I'm not sure if this thread belongs here but I'm fairly certain it will fit in. I've been contemplating something that first appeared in Bardock's Weight loss thread and it has been bothering me a great deal.
It began with this:
That's not exactly what bothered me because I didn't know him that well and I was sure that there was a decent reason for his restriction. Naturally, I was curious as to why he was forced to depart from these boards so I took a quick view at his profile and found a list of his previous warnings and restrictions along with the reason why he was permanently evicted from this community. I found this:
I read that and thought it looked quite queer because I did not remember reading anything like that amongst the "Forum Rules" section of the forum. Actually, there isn't anything remotely akin to that in the rules sections, as seen here:
I'd also like to add that, before you jump on me for breaching the "challenging the moderators in public" rule, I have not openly disagreed with the moderators actions but have only publicized the restriction, which is not listed to be against the rules.
I might also add that the reason for restriction does not state that Alpha Centauri was restricted because he flamed or that he was restricted because his report included flaming/attacks. It appears as if he was restricted for breaking a rule that did not exist. The staff at this community might have made a mistake of some sort but it seems awkward to me because there are no conditions on this board that will earn you a restriction if you make a false report.
As a final note, it appears that Alpha Centauri was restricted quite a few times before in the past and there might be some bitter history between him and the staff. I haven't been here long enough so I'm not completely sure. I just thought I would elaborate a little more on this particular restriction because it's throwing me off a tad.
As a final note, some of you might go and say, "He had numerous warnings in the past so that's why Alpha Centauri deserved it." That doesn't make sense because he has numerous warnings for breaking the rules and, technically, a false report isn't against the rules of this board.
AC was a total douche first time I talked to him, there a guy posting naked uncensored gay porn and he was complaining about my avatar, was actually pretty funny looking back on it

Mmm, yeah he was a bit of a ****. Interesting point you make though, I hadn't even realised that his restriction wasn't even grounds for a restriction at all. I suppose we'll just have to wait for a Moderator to comment on it then.
I could understand perhaps a warning, or even a temporary ban, but a permament ban seems a bit excessive now doesn't it?

AC deserved to be banned. My guess is that what you saw was the straw that broke the camel's back. If anything, the mods were extremely tolerant of his disruptive style.
