Dubai

If you have ever been or want to go, post your thoughts of the place and memorable moments. I want to go someday.

This is how my office looked like:
(please log in to view the image)

I've stayed there for 15 years.

Tbh, life is boring there.
It's too peaceful and serene for my liking.

I did encounter occasional racism rants/jokes (I had it harder since I am Filipino) and the "I can't take you seriously 'cause your not Arab" situations (they favor Arab/Caucasion's ideas in meetings and discussions).

Also, there are NO brothels, casinos, and mini bars.
Most entertainment forms from Western culture are strictly prohibited.
The worst part is Internet censorship. They block everything.

On the bright side of things, I did earn quite a lot of dosh during my stay.
The money I saved helped me kickstart a business here in the Philippines.

Do I want to go back?
Sure, but only to visit those new places I haven't been to before.

Looks like a prison for a work environment and no entertainment? Maybe I'll just go to skydive and see the sights.

Btw, I didn't work for 15 years.
What I meant is I have lived there for 15 years.

It's not too shabby of you're the type of person who likes to live a quiet, peaceful life.

The only danger in the streets are the Baluchis (Pakistani/Baluchistan immigrants that became naturalized UAE citizens).
They like to start fights by spurting random insults at you.
Just ignore them. If you don't, they'll call their posse and gang up on you.
And the police will side with them, especially if you're an expat.
They're like the typical African-American gangs you see in the streets of USA.

Sounds like my kind of people!

You also said before the edit they avoid self-destructive and stupefying American leisure and for more proactive purposes. Man!

Eerie how much I agree with the Arabs.

But their philosophies, however proactive, are a little lacking in transhumanism. The opposite in fact, to me they're as much a fossil as American opportunist. To me, America is the greatest of evils in the modern world, well, American business. It is like the corruption in the Roman senate. Precisely. I believe in abundance and great equality of social class and living standard.

I am an extremist all around. An anarchic demotechnocrat - extremist who's also a Renaissance Man and pro-singularity transhumanist, with bits and peaces of Arabia's cultural beliefs in addition.

Gotta be extreme!
