There should be plenty of free sites around if you use the standard search engines, but the problem with searching for ROM's is the same problem with searching for porn. You get huge amounts of sites with nothing but lists that link to each other, with no real content to them.
Beware that it is illegal to have ROM's on your PC for more than 24 hours unless you own a copy of the game itself.
