We all knew it was coming. I just didn't think it would be so quick. Kojima usually works on it for years before hinting.
I actually agree. I'll probably just pirate the next one or something if I end up playing it. Definitely not supporting Konami without Kojima at the end.
I'm sure they do have every intention of moving forward with the series, MGS Pachinko machines, MGS Pinball machines, MGS Mobile games etc etc
Konami is pretty much done with gaming, and rightfully so since there's way more money to be made in casinos and mobile games. Make hay while the sun shines
I'm pretty Konami is done with at least AAA videogames. I think they are still making the PES series but another MGS....I'm pretty sure not.
As much as MGS5 sold, I wonder how much profit it actually made knowing the development cost for MGS5 was upwards of $80 million.
All in all, MGS5 was a fantastic game but it did have issues. Most notable was the lack of an original Chapter 2 and not a dumb rehash. For all the crazy shit you do, I rather have Kojima spend the money on creating that content.
