I think LeBron is the best all around player. Overall is close between LeBron and Kobe in my opinion.

I'd say Dwyane Wade personally.

Lebron is eventually going to average a triple double.. and when that happens this question will be obsolete

Kobe is a underated defensive player, but the best scoring threat peroid and the guy you want with the ball in his hands with the game on the line straight poison..

Dwanye is a tremendous slashing scorer outside game is sometimes questionable as well as his Defense and he benefits from his cast tremedously.Would like to see him work the post better he is real close to being the best I think as he matures his shooting and post, defense will get better ala Kobe...

Allen Iverson great player lots of heart great scorer plays in a giants world but overall no I really dont think so shoots way to much horrible shot selection 41% from the field kills a team defense is not there but a underated passer "when he passes watch a few allstar games you will see what I mean" A few holes to be considered the best all round player but I absolutely love the guy..

Lebron James Rebouding check Scoring check passing court vision just sick defense is getting there best all round game in my opinon and hes getting better which is scary outside game is tremedous and getting better can slash and when he does post" I would like to see him post more" its almost not fair. but the number one thing I like is he is unselfish with the ball gets the whole team involved..

As of right now give me one player I will take Lebron his supporting cast is not great makes everybody better around him cause they know they are going to get the ball this year he will take a even bigger step forward by the way just dropped 35 pts 10 boards and the cavs just beat the spurs.. Kobe kills me cause I think he is the most talented most dynamic player just doesnt get the team involved enough you just dont know what your going to get from him besides his 30 a night some nights he looks like the best I have ever seen the next he looks like a gunner who only cares about his stats who takes horrible shots and rest of the team looks dead no hustle just beaten down like they know there not getting the ball. I hope he puts more emphaiss on the team getting people invovled instead of the kobe show..

1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. dwayne

I don't think Kobe is an underrated defensive player. He is always getting votes for all-defensive teams and has been on them several times. Plus, the common fans all know he is an excellent defender. I think he gets his dues.

Most common fans don't even know what a all-defensive team is. Its not like a advertised award like all NBA team not to many people can even tell you who is First team let alone second team all NBA. He's known for Being a dynamic scorer Highlight reel and finishing games when he gets the rock being a great player not a guy who can shut his guy down while dropping 35 a game..

I still beg to differ. I bet everybody here knows he is a great defender, which goes to show that he does get the credit.

yeah kobe is an awesome defender, but calling him underrated is a little too much.

Kobe is an OK defender on a consistent basis. He can't play great defense and put up 30 - 35 points. He might score 20 points and play great defense on a given night, but he isn't a great defender on a consistent basis like Bruce Bowen, Tayshaun Prince, Ron Artest, Jason Kidd, among others.

I'll give it to Kobe he has been NBA all defensive First Team 4 times but most of those were when they were winning the championships with Shaq,DFish, and others. Can't deny that more attention means a better chance of being recognized. Kobe is neither overrated or underrated, he's just OK.

Kobe is somewhat underrated as a defender. Kobe is so good at scoring his defense is sometimes overlooked. Though, he might get awards(All NBA Def. Team) alot vfor it but when people put DWade and Lebron over Kobe they should look at the mans defense. Bryant plays on both ends of the floor. When LJ#23 and DW#3 start playing D like KB#24 then come and talk to me.

AI#3 is also like KB#24. He plays both ends of the floor. Has the most heart. KB#24 just has the most will to win.

Darth Martin-You're awesome, Kobe is way underrated and defense is poorly played in the NBA now.

what i think is funny is that not a one of you mentioned Nash (not saying nash is the best)

I think Kobe barely edges Lebron out for now. But I agree his D is not underrated. His D is very good and people know it it isnt some new fact that was never looked at before.

You can blame Stern (not the players) for that one.
