Fierljeppen!
A Dutch sport from the north, meaning 'far leaping'.
Invented by a farmer seeking a swift route across ditches and waters in the lands, by using a pole to hop over these obstacles.
The trick was passed on, the technique got improved and by now it is one of the most challenging athletic sports around.
Had my first real encounter with it last weekend, and it's a rush! Not to mention rather difficult and painfull when you mess up!
