Do You Think Anime Is Taking Over Saturday Morning Cartoon Shows?
No mattter what channel you put on, there's always an Anime show airing. I'm getting sick of this b/c all of the good shows are cancelled now (like X-Men Evolution, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, etc) due to this s***! Does anyone else agree?
Haven't paid close attention to Saturday morning cartoons. But in a way I'm glad Anime is taking over the WB and Fox kids. Their cartoons are lame as hell. I'd rather see more anime on Saturday morning than anything else. I'm a huge Batman fan and I hated Beyond and Static Shock. As for X-men Evolutions I'm also glad to hear is being cancelled. The early X-men cartoon of the 90's was way more cooler.

No shit. After what I call teh Pokemon revolution, producers realized...anime is just much more effective in the area of getting attention. To most young kids, they haven't experianced such complexity in cartoons before,so its a pretty cool thing when they see something like YugiOh or Shamen King on.

Pokemon was the most succesful in developing a huge fanbase. Previously Transformers were one of the first animes morning shows.

You have to remember that there are plenty of anime made for little kids and Saturday mornings. I'm kinda glad it's happening though, it introduces a whole new generation to anime. You gotta start somewhere. Us more "matured" and "veteraned" anime fans can go out and find what suits us more...so, don't hate saturday moring anime.

Fox Box and Kids WB is pretty much becoming the Anime Network. Not so much with Cartoon Network (though they do show some) and I don't think Nickelodeon even DOES show Anime. It would bother me if so much of the american cartoons on Fox Box and Kids WB wern't so lame.

dude, the 80's was the best time for anime in saturday morning cartoons.
RoboTech, voltron, transformers...all sorts of cool stuff.

All those shows were introduced to morning cartoons due to the sucess of Mazinger Z which debuted in the 70's. If it wasn't for Gou Nagai's there probably wouldn't be any mecha Anime today.

I'm not saying I dislike anime but I'm not jap or oriental, everyone's allowed to their own opinion's, but shows like X-men evolution or batman beyond weren't the best, But there are worst than them just because the shows anime doesn't mean it's the holy grail of all types of shows an should be allowed to take over American television. It's called American television for a reason, although I am a fan of anime I find find that the shows that run out long (cough.. cough dbz, yugioh, inyu yasha, pokemon cough cough and more) seem to die out after they reach past a certain episode where you can practically predict the next episode. But I also have to agree with the anime people life goes on things and shows eventually take over the other. If anime has taken over Saturday mourning television so be it. We can't change the facts shows and things change just as people change although the past is important we have to move on to the future and accept anime televised future. Sooner or later someone of some show will kill anime spot on Saturday mourning tv, nothing lasts forever, it's the circle of television we'll have to live with it. Also anime was one reason Saturday mourning television manage to live till the 80's, so don't go hating something because it's different or unique . Loving that 90's X-men.
I been watching the morning cartoons and it seems that Anime series are getting more and more attention. I don't follow the series but it seems to be that they becoming more popular nowadays. I was surprise to see that Pokemon is still running. You would think that the kids who rave so much would have move on to a more complicated anime shows. Nice to see Anime is kicking ass on Saturday morning tv.

Yeah, anime is getting is becoming more widespread on American TV, particularly with Saturday morning cartoons. Maybe if so many American cartoons made now didn't suck this wouldn't be the case.

In Japan, these are merely cartoons, nothing special. We like them because they're different then the normal cartoons we have come to see. I'm betting that our cartoons are a hit over there.
