Awesome animation, amazing stories, and great characters. Some anime may lack in one department, but make it up in the other two. Cartoons are great, but there is never any closure. I don't expect freakazoid or captain planet to blow my mind like I would Full Metal Alchemist.
You know what I don't like about anime. Often the good ones only make one series. Like Gantz had a sweet ending but I think that there should be more episodes made, as well as Berserk and Ninja Scroll and Elfen Lied.

fma is one of the gretest animes lolnot many can say what u just did and live to tell about it
i like anime bcuz it creates wrolds that are impossible to reallly create in live action movies, it takes different looks at situations that u may never have thought of, some of the artwork is absolutely amazing, and alot of the time id watch this over normal tv shows enyday
I like anime because I like the art styles and the form of storytelling. I like how each episode is connected together instead of being stand-apart stories, though they can also work that way.
Better to keep it at one season than to make another and ruin the show.
The rants about about FMA reminded me about something else I like about anime. Diversity. There are several types of anime out there. I'm not going to say there is something for everyone, but it seems like it. There is also Japan's special brand of humor.
(P.S. Even though Freakazoid didn't blow my mind, it was still awesome. Hugbees! )
The artwork and stories are gripping. Many times the music is also very gripping.
Mostly though...it's the fact that there are things you can do in an anime that you could never do in prime-time television or with a live-action show or even in a movie. There's room for the imagination.
I enjoy being entertained. Plain and simple. I've been a movie buff for as long as I can remember. I've also been an avid reader since I was very, very young. It's hard for me to give you exact figures because I'm afraid I've been this way for so long that I don't remember how I started. Whether it's music, art, poetry, novels, movies, cartoons, tv shows, the theatre or even just a freaking dog show I tend to enjoy them. Anime is just a form of entertainment that tends to stimulate in both art and imagination. Though I'm still hesitant to watch some anime.
It’s hard to defend anime without sounding defensive. It’s silly to say things like “Anime is not just kids’ cartoons”, though that is true. Anime is a combination of medium of animation and a culture that can sometimes do a fair job making use of this medium. So, ask, rather, “why watch animation?” Let's see i love because of the storyline. How cool it is, i love the chars. And the graphics i just love everything about it.
Well really anime is just a foreign country's prime-time television. They watch anime and we watch American Idol. I mean they have live shows as well of course but Anime is another form of television they have, just like we have our various types. I mean you won't find Battlestar Galactica in Japan because they can do you 1 better by making it an anime.
