Kakashi and Jiraiya seemed to imply that by learning to control himself, his anger, and produce his new Jutsu, that Naruto would be even more powerful than he was in him demon fox form.

Thusly...

Does his intelligent use of the Kage Bunshin and Wind-Shuriken Rasengan make up for his vicious power as the Kyuubi?

I think so.

I think PTS-Naruto charges up his Shuriken Rasengan and simply pwns Kyuubi with it. K-naruto's attacks are almost all short-ranged.
