Please Please Someone put me out of my misery.

I remember a film from when i was a kid and i want it again but dont know what its called.

2 bits i remember.

at the very end they play cut scenes from what looks like world war 2 to scare the enemy and it works.

the other is there in a target practice booth shooting little critters.

sorry so little to go on can anyone help

Jin Roh, I think That's what it's called.

This one was in the mid 80's. It was also set in space.

the guy shotting the critters for target practice got into a cannon looking machine to do it.

Think the main guy in it was learning how to become a soldier or pilot. god i wish i could remember more than just random fragments.

I wasn't born in the 80s but it sounds like Robotech...maybe?
