Vegeta

What do you like/dislike about him the most.

How utterly stupid he can act. Like Goku at least got dropped on the head as a baby, and was never portrayed as "bright" by any stretch of the imagination.

Vegeta on the other hand probably had the best tutors available, but he's so damn arrogant and prideful, he'll risk not only his life, but the life of his family and his friends just to prove that he's not a weakling against a guy who clearly will push his shit in.

Goku always came to me as young and dumb but a good fighter and Vegeta spitful of Goku cause he still was a better warrior.

I like Namek saga Vegeta. I think that was his character at his best. Hard to explain. Might elaborate later.

I know what you mean he was alike 90/10 bad/good ratio

How utterly stupid he can act. Like Goku at least got dropped on the head as a baby, and was never portrayed as "bright" by any stretch of the imagination.

It's not stupidity in the least, in fact most people will tell you that Vegeta is a genius when it comes to tactic and overall fighting prowess. The problem is that he is Prideful, Arrogant, and Traditional. That's how most Saiyans are and Vegeta is the prince

I'm the prince of all saiyans!

I.. vegeta... am a Super Saiyan!

Point.

Mainly, it's because Vegeta at this point showcased his genius/rebellion state well. We already saw that he was strong and in some ways smart, but here we got to see how he adapted. He quickly learned a trait that threw most others in the series through a loop (sensing energy), he topped some of Frieza's best men single handed and showcased that new favorite "A Saiyan comes back much stronger" talent. Everything before and after made him look like an absolute push over, while here he can be seen as one of the best.

Read the entirety of my post. I said he acts stupid specifically because of his pride and arrogance drive him to prove himself or showcase his skills instead of taking the most prevalent course of action. I never said he himself was stupid. His personality causes him to make stupid choices. Like allowing Cell to absorb 18 to become Perfect just to prove he's still better for example.

But Goku is the same way. That's a whole of Dragonball Z. They want to defeat them in their true form, everyone. If not, it would become pretty stupid. Vegeta reached past Super Saiyan. He fights Cell. Cell losing.

Cell: Wait! Let me absorb 18 and obtain my true power, I think I could defeat you then.
Vegeta: ... No. *obliterates*

End of Cell Saga.

They would get so much hate mail for something like that because then we would never see the guy at their strongest, we would consider the good guy as always weaker then what could have been. So many bad things could have come from it if Saiyans weren't that way; especially Vegeta.

I get that he has to be that way for the show to work. But it still gets to me. As for Goku, he just wants to fight his hardest and have his opponent do the same. Plus he's not that bright.

Vegeta wants to prove he's better than everyone and humiliate his opponent. There's a big difference between those two.

I don't really see the difference. They are both dumbasses. Goku even going as far as healing his opponents as they are about to take on his own son.

Same goes with Cell. Frieza. Even Buu.

Vegeta, the best saiyan father shown. Now that's a sad thought.

Pan in GT begs to differ, but that's GT and doesn't exist. But yea I meant full blood.

Why is he bad in GT? Iirc she ran off without his knowledge to join Goku

Why are halfbloods so much ridiculously stronger than normal saiyans, again?

😆 That for one. She wasn't suppose to even go, sneaks on the ship, and launches it before Goten can even get aboard. Iirc she's kinda disrespectful to her grandfather, is kinda bratty, and everything.

Really only Gohan is. Goten and Trunks kinda start out strong, but really aren't after a bit.

Pan could circle the earth in, like, an hour. When she was 4.
Goten and trunks were both super saiyans before they were 10. Gohan was the first to reach ascended.

I like his pride and his warrior history. I like his title and his early merciless behavior.

What I didn't like was the way he would have let Bulma and his son die. Didn't like him confessing that Goku was his better either, even if I know it was just character progression.

Yeah I didn't like the whole "Goku you're better" but I understand it and even appreciate it now.

What I never liked was how he never got to finish any big bad guy, and never even got his payback on Frieza during movie 12. Wanted to see him troll Frieza all SS.

In GT (which as we all know, isn't real) Vegeta becomes a better father. He acknowledges Trunks. Gohan is a good father to Pan. The only bad father after DBZ is Goku who still ignores his son. Abridged Gohan Goku Relationship < Not That Far from the Truth XD
