Doc ock has four adamantium arms...plus four regular human limbs...resulting in a total of eight limbs...and thats where he got the octopus association....if he had 8 admantium arms, then he would have twelve limbs...then he would be...um...doctor crustacean?
I think Doctor 'Octopus' sounds more menacing than Doctor 'Crustacean.' And yeah he has 4 arms, but again, I don't think he has adamantium arms anymore. That was just during that Revenge storyline. Thing would get treated like Hulk did, but he'd keep coming back like Hulk did too.
Definately Oc. Thing is an amazingly awesome fighter, but he's not quick enough to fend of all the arms.

I heard Doctor Octopus beating on Hulk, but I never saw that scene. However, Hulk did beat him rather easy later on when he was taking the alias Mr. Fixit in a casino. When Dr. Octopus commanded the tentacles to wrap around Hulk, he merely collected up the remainder tentacle and swatted him with his finger.
Thing, though weaker strength should not make much difference if taking the same principle.

You'd be amazed how effective those adamantium arms are against a brute like Hulk.
He restrained both of his arms and had one wrapped around his neck while the 4th one took pop shots at Hulk's face. Hulk would swing and swing his arms to get free, but the arms were long enough to hold him in air so he couldn't get closer even though he could freely swing his arms...he couldn't get close enough to do anything to Doc.
Ock definitely smacked around Hulk, but the thing about 'nearly beating him to death' was only Ock's claim. He had a bloody nose and was knocked unconscious, that's it. His healing factor should be healing him as fast as Ock could hit him. I don't think Hulk won against Ock in the same storyline, they faced each other and Ock's gun didn't do anything to Hulk, but it was Sandman who took Ock down.

i'd need some updated info on doc ock before saying anything. i think classic (non-adamantium) ock could get maybe a couple wins vs ben, but ben would get a heavy majority. adamantium ock would likely take a majority imo. maybe someone like sam could fill me in on the current ock?
Just because they're made from adamantium doesn't make them physically strong enough to incapacitate him if he's on his game. tough, sure... strong... probably not.
Sure. In his latest appearance Ock had 8 carbonadium arms, he made them bigger and stronger then before. His body is also protected by a battlesuit made of the same metal. Not saying itd save him from continued class 100 combos but Ben will definitely have a hard time trying to get to Otto. Spider-man managed to break some of those arms so Thing can do it to. But 8 of them attacking at the same time is too much for someone with Ben's speed imo.

Alright; the Thing is renowned for taking on multiple opponents. How does he fess up to someone with 8 adamantium arms?
