Is General Zod a comic book character, or only from the
movie?
Well, if he's as strong as Superman, then he wins, assuming
he attacks quickly and ruthlessly, so as to not give the Hulk
any chance to get stronger.
"Kneel before Zod!".

The comic book character. He's fighting Superman right now in the Phantom Zone.

Assuming that Superman, or Zod, is stronger than Hulk.

An assumption I general follow.
But anyway, my knowledge of General Zod is entirely
limited to Mr.Terence Stamp, a.k.a....

General Zod was a rival of Superman's father back at Krypton. He was sentenced to the Phantom Zone for some reason. He has spent at least a century in the Phantom Zone. Especially with the weird orb thing Superman made.

If he's older, then maybe he's a bit slower and weaker.
But he is a "general", so maybe he's a better fighter.
Hmmm, so I guess General Zod pre-dates the movie then?

The comic pre-dates the movie.
I'm guessing that General Zod is like Kingdom Come Superman. He's spent at least a century soaking up solar rays. General Zod knocked Superman around like a rag doll. His attacks were futile. General Zod is stronger, faster and more "super" than Superman due to the number of years soaking up the solar rays. Old Age is a good thing for a an earthbound Kryptonian.
General Zod appears to be a much better fighter than Superman. I'm assuming that a general would learn some moves.

Then why, for christ's sake, is he going against Hulk?

Because the Hulk gets "stronger as he gets angrier"

The Hulk has the potential to beat General Zod. You argued that the Hulk can beat Superman Prime so...

I have never said any such thing. It would be very difficult for Hulk to beat normal Superman (though he certainly could,) much less an "omnipotent" Superman.

It was that arm-wrestling thread.

If that was so obviously true, then why does the "Superman Vs. Hulk"
thread have over 600 reponses, wiht most of the poll on the side of
Superman?
Superman is stronger than the Hulk.
Draco69 says that General Zod is noticably stronger than Superman,
therefore Zod will beat Hulk even faster than Superman.

In armwrestling. Not a fight.

Pretty much the same thing. A contest of strength. Which is integral to a fight between Hulk and Superman.

Superman is immensely more popular than Hulk. Most Superman fans (who drastically outnumber Hulk's) think Superman is stronger than Hulk. That is an opinion. Not a fact. Any comic book expert would say that Superman and Hulk are pretty evenly matched in strength, or that Hulk was the stronger.
So no. Superman is not stronger than Hulk.

A fight is not a contest of strength. You know this. Power (not strength,) fighting ability, speed, and versatility are the prime factors of winning a fight.
