Superman VS Capt. Marvel (Shazam!)
If this has been debated before, sorry, but it bothers me.
The new DV comics Encyclopedia states under Captain Marvel that he is the Mightiest Mortal, with Strenght and powers on par with Superman.
In the recent Batman/Superman comics, the two fought, Superman said that because of C.Marvel magic based powers, he had the upper hand.
But many other comic apearances and character bio put C.Marvel a notch beneath Superman.
Both super heroes are comparable, i always thought Supes had an edge over Marvel though.
Any thoughts?

probably the same when they fight each other, shazam's magic weakens superman so when he fights SS it brings SS down a peg.
but fighting others, superman is all around better than shazam.
What does Shazam mean? first person to guess it right gets a shiney canadian nickle!
