Spider-Man vs. The X-Men

REMATCH!

In the same environment that they originally fought in the Secret Wars.
The characters are as they are now (except Rogue).

Lineup:

Storm
Nightcrawler
Colossus
Wolverine
Rogue

Can Spider-Man win again. Discuss.

He didn't beat them in a fight, he just escaped. If you're asking if he can get away again, then I'll say yes. But he ain't gonna win a fight against them.

I'd say so.

Spidey's faster and more maneuverable on the ground than any member of that team (even Nightcrawler.)

Lemme see here...possibe scenarios:

Storm-Well, weather attacks probably don't work well for a guy that has pre-cognitive abilties. If she tries to strike him with lightning where he stood he could just keep bouncing from spot to spot until he finally got close enough to KO her.

Nightcrawler-Teleportation? Again, this will probably have less chance of working than weather attacks because, to be frank, Spidey has that much less to avoid. Behind the teleporatation you still only have NC to deal with. The only hard part about avoiding attacks assited by teleporation is sensing it, and since Spidey has pre-cog, it'll only ease the burden of doing so. And let's face it, with one punch, Spidey could easily KO NC.

Colossus-Herein lies a more serious threat. We've got a guy that could end Spidey with one punch with the right amount of force behind it, but with that as Colossus's trunk card comes still a problem. How is Colossus supposed to hit Spidey when Spidey can, well, run circles around him? Not to say that Colossus is so slow, it's just that Spidey is so fast. And if Colossus charges at him Spidey could just drop to one knee, brace himself, and send Colossus flying with a trip. Or, as Colossus is in the act of triping Spidey could stand to his feet and flip Collosus into a wall, and while Colossus won't be hurt in the least, Spidey could just go on as he was fighting the others. And let's not forget that Spidey could web Colossus's legs together as he pulls himself up to his feet.

Wolverine-Hmm, let's see....Spidey could mulekick into the surrounding wall, KO him, immobilize him with webbing, toss him into others, the list goes on....

Rogue-It'll take a prolonged speedblitz utilizing most all of his power but eventually it could grant him the KO victory. And Rogue's no bullet in the air anyway, he'd dodge her alot easier than he would someone like Archangel.

spidey is fast, but not as fast as a lightning bolt.

there is nothing spidy can do to harm colossus.

rogue...i don't know about this one. somebody make a spidey v rogue thread!

nightcrawler's teleportation is instantaneous, not that his punches would be much to spidey. spidey would probably catch his fist and clock him.

wolverine: the eternal debate. i'll play it safe and say that it's too close to call, though i give the edge to spidey.

fighting all of these guys at once, and spidey is so boned.

Agree with all of them (individually) except for Storm. -40 degree temperature drop in his bowels and he is done.

why does everyone think spidey could easily KO rogue her classic version can lift like 5 times as much as him and while she isnt that durable she has taken hits from strong guys and hasnt been KOed

I never said that Spidey could *easily* KO Rogue, just that he could. I did note that it would take a speedblitz with Spidey using all of his might behind each punch.

But I'm just pleading my case....

Ms Marvel was known for her speed and aerial manoeuvrability and rogues powers derive from hers. If u think archangel is fast then I suggest u read up on him cos his top flight speed is like 150mph. Rogue is much faster. Rogue would have a better chance against spidey than say she hulk or a slightly stronger but ground based person would have IMO.

True, storm conjures up a gale force wind (damn her friends, this is a versus match!), and throws them all into a wall at mach 2.

People keep referring to Secret Wars. The fact is that if you guys really read the damn thing, you would realize that the Xmen were beefing at the time and there was high tension and animosity amongst themselves. SM infiltrated the base and went spying. Xmen got pissed and just went protecting their turf. It was more of a sudden thing were none of them were prepared nor fight as they usually do. That complex building also you have to remember was constructed just as NYC with high columns, devices and just things were SM could maneuver better. So the environment was totally in SM's advantage.
