Difficult. I am incline to say yes BUT Thanos is never really taken off guard. At best just amused. So a surprise attack might just make him smile and find the whole thing an amusing distraction.
Also he has an armada of futuristic state of the art spaceships at his disposal, one in particular I forgot it's name but he used it in Infinity Wars saga. That thing alone conquered numerous star systems and galaxies

Thanos takes on singlehandedly the hulk and drax. He can hold his own with galactus for a little while. He regularly takes over the universe. He is not getting beaten by 2 second rate avengers, a sorceress hardly anyones heard of and the lamest herald of the bunch.

Other members could stall Thanos, while Kale whips up a banishment spell, or pulls something out her magic book. A cheap win, but it's something they could do.
Heroes also have a week of prep, something Thanos doesn't.
