the authority hit marvel
so lets say that the original authority(jenny sparks did not die)decide to take their brand of justice to the marvel universe. how does it play out who do they take out and who do they piss off,etc.

Hmmm...there's a crossover I'd like to see. A superhero team not afraid of killing and using excessive force...in the Marvel Universe.
The Authority could take the Avengers (Classic), and honestly the Doctor's reality warping powers could probably stalemate even current Scarlet Witch. The New Avengers (i.e. Sentry) might be interesting, but he's still just a beefed-up Supes. The Authority would take him down....notably the Doctor, and maybe Jenny or Jack depending on where they are.
X-Men have pheonix, but without Jean they're screwed...although a few of the Authority might be suceptible to telepaths.
Really, when talking about who the Authority would beat it's "Who would The Doctor beat?" because he's far and away the most powerful member. He can reform reality to his will, much like Wanda or Franklin, and has demonstrated immense power plenty of times within a relatively short run (Authority is still fairly new by comic standards). Anyone without a powerful magic-user (Strange, Wanda, etc.) or an immensely powerful cosmic entity (Pheonix, anything around or above Skyfather, etc.) is done for.

Not only that, but the rest of the team is pretty powerful too. Midnighter, the "weakest" guy on the team, is also the deadliest bastard in the world. Apollo is a sundip away from wrecking Thor and the other heavy hitters, and Engineer has survived both entering the center of the sun and a nuclear blast basically going off IN HER FACE. Basically, it's gonna take a handful of heavy hitter telepaths to give MU a chance.

Khell makes some good points. MN'er could take out any street-level thug on Marvel Earth (he's taken out a Colossus lookalike so even some brawler types wouldn't bother him), and the rest of them could consolidate power and work on the teams. If they wanted to take control of Marvel Earth, they could probably do it. It would take a monumental telepathic effort, an overload of people working together, or a few heavy hitters (Pheonix/Sentry/Strange) might be able to pull it off.

P.S. MN'er vs. Spider-Man would be good though...tough fight. But the other street-level bastards are going down.
