Speedball has a kinetic reaction to force. When he is hit by someone or something he turns into a super ball of kinetic energy.
In the brand new New Warriorers #1 that just came out; which you should start collecting by the way...it's great; he goes up to two 90 ton class escapes from the vault; Tiger Shark and someone else and asks the strongest of the two to hit him his hardest. He's freaking funny as heck and the team is funny around him.
