Magik, Illyana Rasputin, uses a mix of black and white magic and is known to be able to to teleport in both time and space, but her time travelling was flimsy and unpredictable at best, and hence she mostly sticks to porting in space - she is known to have ported across continents. Magik wields her Soulsword which slays or dispels all demons and the like, also dealing damage to the soul of the target when hit. Magik was able to produce psionic shields and summon fiends. When Magic would use black magic, her Soul Armor that protectes her from a lot of ill effects, would increasingly cover her and drive her to the dark side, which manifested as Darkchylde, a true demon. Darkchylde is assumed to be considerably more powerful than the basic version of Magik.

Spiral is a magical transmutation of an ex-stunt woman, Ricochet Rita. The ruler of Mojoworld, Mojo, gave her 6 arms and the ability to use them as well as anyone uses two. Her strength and speed are at inhuman levels. She is a skilled weaponmaster and a black magician. Her magic abilities include but are not limited to trashing force fields, teleportation in time and space (though she doesn't use her timewarping skills in combat), draining the life force and mutant powers of her enemies using magical matrixes, use various energy attacks and become invisble by phasing back and forth at an incredible pace in time and space. Rita is known to have temporarily deactivated the whole of Avengers' mutant powers.

Both are capable magicians and both use teleportation tactics. Illyana's soulsword can't be blocked and she can summon demon minions whereas Spiral has the fighting- and strength advantage. Illyana's black magic is more refined and skilled, Spiral has her energy matrix spells.
