^ I don't know about "definitely." IMO, for such a powerful character, Captain Atom gets underrated a lot. Plus he jobs to other characters too, which doesn't help his reputaion.

For someone with his potential powerlevel, Atom is a horrible jobber. To the same degree of MM. He exists soley to raise others stock. Such a horrible existence.
Well he recently owned the Wildcats. He used his matter transmutation powers to devolve Maul(a Hulk level character) to Jeremy Stone and override the Engineer's nannites. He is going to fight the Authority next issue.
He is back in DC in Battle of the Bludhaven and is being used to power up an army of Superhumans. I think CA lost his jobber status at Wildstorm and DC is starting to give a damn about the character. Remember he was originally the Monarch, the same guy that killed every Superhero in a future timeline.
Validus, I wouldn't undermine CA's figth with Majesitc. Majestic is dying in his own book, true, but we still don't know what is going to happen from there to the fight, in a relative Wildstorm time sense. It didn't indicate in the CA mini book that he was weakened, so I wouldn't throw anything yet until further stories says otherwise.
