The Blob had superhuman strength which had greatly increased over the years, in a manner very similar to that of the Thing; originally the Blob had enhanced strength enabling him to lift about 1 ton, but right up to losing his powers he had become strong enough to lift roughly 70 tons. This improvement was said to be a result of his ongoing mutation.
Blob claimed to be unmovable.......

He simply unloaded an entire webbing cartridge on Blob, and it enveloped him and kept him stuck until the cops showed up. If he had wanted, SM could've let it cover his mouth too, thus suffocating him, but he stuck a newspaper in his mouth to be nice.
But if we're going bloodlust and such, Blob never touches him and loses via suffocation. He doesn't even need his upgrades
