Pretty much.

Whether it's been retconned or not, I don't know but Shuma was able to steal massive amounts of power from God at one point. So much so that God had to remove him in order to protect the multiverse.

Basically. Shuma was a few steps from omnipotence , even Blackheart can't deal with that.
