Basically he has a psi shield in addition to the symbiote.

You really should....I like what ive seen so far. It's different from anything else out there. Of course im a fan from way back during the old series also though....

Supposedly the symbiote inhances any existing abilities of its host to any levels depending only to their imagination.. Ie... Grail becoming full energies, Pilgrims subconsious abilities to time travel/invisiblity, Jester not needing his biological body anymore or Claymore the most powerfull of the bunch who is capable of doing anything he wants.. The diff. with this guys is that their completely accepted/merged w/ the symbiote... Dane is not of fear of losing his humanity, that being said the symbiote being weak against magical powered opponent Ie. The Night tribe clans.. and The host not being able to protect it being not fully merge case w/ Dane, its only time till he falls down at Shazams onslaught but i wouldnt say its an easy fight Dane in Team 7 was badass heck he can bring people back from the dead, talking about when Cray died but thats another topic...
