Why bother with that when he could kill Jesse just as easily? Any fight with Preacher is won or lost dependant entirely on whether they can kill him before he has time to say "die."

It's possible Warlock stands outside of Jesse's reality, much like reality manip doesn't work on him in Marvel.

If so, Jesse's in trouble...but it would just be mere speculation. We have no way of actually knowing.
