Why can't we just have a big versus forum instead?

Instead of always having to keep things in certain forums, why can't we just have a forum with a big "versus" on it ? This way if anyone wants to make a versus thread, they can, regardless of who's involved. I want to see more vs threads involving characters from movies/tv/cartoons around here. And it's always fun to have a crossover like "Bart Simpson vs Ryu". It's a lot quicker and might allow people to get creative on the opponents.
