Movie hulk was pretty smart and adapted to his enemies pretty quickly. I'm not sure how he's gonna hurt sand, but sand sure isn't going to hurt him unless it could smother him somehow. He did pass out at very high altitude on that fighter jet and was almost drowned by his old man before he went ape-crap on him.
