ok, suppose Supes doesn't have his heat vision or freezing breath. I'm curious to see what would happen in Hand-to-Hand Combat fight, even with Supes' level of strength. How long could Cap make it? Could he out fight him?
Heat vision and freeze breath won't make that much difference anyway. Cap is fast and agile enough to dodge both and can block HV with his shield.
In any case, Cap could last quite a while. He's a much more skilled fighter and he's accustomed to taking on super-strong opponents. He can use judo throws and the like to fend off Superman for some time.
If this is a 'cage match,' then Cap will last some time but will most likely lose eventually since Supes only needs one good solid hit. Even the best fighter can only evade for so long.
If however it's a more 'realistic' scenario, Cap will soon realise that he can't physically defeat Superman and (unless innocents are at risk or somesuch thing) will attempt a strategic retreat to get a hold of some K-nite.
Can he stay alive long enough to get a hold of it? Possibly since Supes is without flight and super-speed and Cap is a lot more acrobatic and athletic. He could most likely out-distance him.
If it wasn't common knowledge to MU characters that Superman was weak to k-nite, and if the green glowing rock wasn't as common as bread in the DCU, and if Superman wasn't a common brick, and had super speed, I suppose Cap might be screwed.
even without heat or cold breath, superman still has wind breath. if he can't use that, all he has to do is wait till cap takes a swing, grab the shield, and punt mister red, white and blue into orbit.
Being unable to speed blitz doesn't mean he cannot use his speed defensively. Cap'd never be anywhere CLOSE to touching him.
Further more, even if you took away all of Superman's powers but his strength and durability, none of Cap's attacks would even make Superman blink. He'd take a hit to the face in order to grab Cap, and toss him right into the sun.
The REAL question here is why a Moderator of the forum left such a ridiculously lopsided thread open.
