magnetism vs sorcery

look at the last 20 secs of the video where morgaine is taking the magic stone from WW. and WW couldnt stop the stone from going to morgaine.

the question is if it was an adamantium staff that had magic powers that morgaine was after and magneto was in the room. could he stop the staff from going to her or his magnetism is no match for her sorcery even if it involves a metal object ?
