darkseid's will was such that instead of dying when his heart was shredded, like all other new gods - he 'fell' [by choice] to the material world [the mainstream DCU] instead. then, through sheer force of will once more, he formed a singularity which was pulling the entire multiverse into a hell the WAS darkseid.

Thanos would defeat Ds here and relinquish his power later on. He usually fends off all comers and then leaves the door open to some half beaten hero/villain clinging to life. Who wins this thread though?
